Variable Hour Housekeeper II

Seeking a dependable, caring individual for a Housekeeper II position.
Hours and days are various according to supervisors scheduling needs. Hours are typically 7:30am-3:00pm. Note: This position is variable hour 20 or less hours per week; not a benefitted position.

Job Summary: Provide housekeeping services to all assigned residential and common areas to assure a clean, safe and friendly environment for residents, guests and co-workers. Provide excellent customer service, interacting with residents, staff and community members in friendly and courteous manner at all times.

Qualifications: Able to read, write and speak English in a way that allows safe, efficient performance of all housekeeper duties. An appreciation for and desire to serve older adults with a commitment to customer service and high work ethic. Must be dependable, a team player and willing to learn. Housekeeping experience preferred, but will train the right person

Hourly rate starts at $10.00/hour

Job Objective/ Summary: Scope of job may be limited to specific work or project areas, with limited regular one-to-one resident interaction. Primary assignments may include housekeeping or laundry or both. Provides excellent customer service, interacting with residents, staff and community members in a friendly and courteous manner at all times. Works from a set of clear expectations. Decision-making is occasional and problem-solving is minimal. This position may serve as a training position for a Housekeeper III-Laundry position.

Housekeeping: Performs cleaning tasks that assure a clean and attractive environment for residents, guests and co-workers.

Laundry: Provides laundry services for health services, dining services, facilities department, and for individual residents as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Housekeeping: Perform detailed cleaning and sanitizing tasks, empty trash and process recycling in designated areas. May assist with additional cleaning tasks or projects as assigned. Perform work as per quality and quantity standards identified for the job and/or department.
  • Housekeeping: Restock cart with necessary supplies.
  • Laundry: Understand and follow established laundry procedures including proper use of detergents and other chemicals, and safe use of all equipment including washers and dryers. Ensure that an adequate supply of linens is available to meet the “par” level.
  • Properly use, maintain and store equipment.
  • Conduct job duties in a safe manner, following all safety regulations and guidance from safety data sheets, and using proper personal protective equipment for work.
  • Follow written and verbal work plans and assignments.
  • Follow and complete work plans and assignments as per work schedule. Assist others in department when you have time, and ask supervisor for help if you need assistance completing tasks within assigned work schedule.
  • Report work issues to supervisor for help with fixing them.
  • Identify and report work orders for maintenance as needed.
  • Respond in timely manner to clean up accidents and/or in emergency situations.
  • Adhere to Friendsview’s policies and procedures, including those covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and codes of conduct. Maintain confidentiality and respects residents privacy at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience: No formal education or experience necessary; however, must be able to learn and perform the job as outlined in this job description.
  • Supervising (direct reports and level of supervision): Not responsible for any supervisory functions or responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass the Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check and, if applicable, fingerprinting.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass the pre-employment reference checks.
  • Must be able to provide the official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.
  • Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
  • Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the US.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record (if required to drive).

 

Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category I: Your tasks routinely involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other contaminated materials. In compliance with OSHA standards on blood borne pathogens, Friendsview Retirement community will offer Hepatitis B vaccine to all employees who are determined to be at risk of exposure to blood or other body fluids and follow up to all employees who have had an exposure incident. This vaccine will be provided at no cost to the employee.
