Big time small-town food scene
Some say the climate in the Willamette Valley is key to our world-renown vineyards and exciting culinary culture, but we think the spirit of the people is really what sets us apart. Voted by USA Today as one of the top ten Best Small Town Food Scenes, you can experience an entire world of complex flavors entirely sourced from right here in the valley.
Downtown charm
Move your feet and your mind at the monthly First Friday’s art walk. Shop at some great boutiques or the Wednesday Farmers Market, and then challenge your palette with a high-end artisan-prepared dinner or hometown comfort food. From crafts to books, antiques, and more, our walkable downtown is a vibrant place to enjoy a morning, afternoon, or nighttime stroll.
The great outdoors
Challenge yourself with hiking or biking the famous Chehalem Heritage Trails, or take an easy day trip to the Oregon coast. Explore Champoeg State Park and then get a new perspective with an hour-long hot air balloon adventure that launches from Newberg Sportsman Airpark. Fresh air and incredible natural beauty abound and are a big part of what makes this region such a great place to call home.
Loving to learn
George Fox University, ranked among the top Christian colleges by Forbes, does more than just offer incredible opportunities to pursue lifelong learning. The campus and its 2,500+ students help keep Newberg fresh and dynamic year after year. One big community
